GLAZED CARROTS

Ingredients
- 500g carrots
- 60g butter
- 20g sugar
- 3g salt
- 1g pepper
- 100ml water
- Pinch of chicken powder
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Peel the carrots and remove the top and root
- Cut the carrots into pieces of equal size
- Easiest by "turning" or cutting them "Oblique"
- Once cut place the carrots in a thick bottomed pan
- Add to the pan the butter, sugar, salt and pepper
- Add the water and bring to the boil over a high heat
- Once boiling turn down to a simmer and cover
- Simmer till the carrots are cooked but still with a bite
- Remove the pan from the heat and leave the carrots to cool in the liquor
- Serve immediately or chill to reserve till later
