GLAZED CARROTS

Ingredients

  • 500g carrots
  • 60g butter
  • 20g sugar
  • 3g salt
  • 1g pepper
  • 100ml water
  • Pinch of chicken powder
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  • Peel the carrots and remove the top and root
  • Cut the carrots into pieces of equal size
  • Easiest by "turning" or cutting them "Oblique"
  • Once cut place the carrots in a thick bottomed pan
  • Add to the pan the butter, sugar, salt and pepper
  • Add the water and bring to the boil over a high heat
  • Once boiling turn down to a simmer and cover
  • Simmer till the carrots are cooked but still with a bite
  • Remove the pan from the heat and leave the carrots to cool in the liquor
  • Serve immediately or chill to reserve till later
