BLACKENED ONIONS

Ingredients  
  • Red onions
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  Instructions  
  • Peel the onions keeping the root intact
  • Depending on the size of the onions cut them into either 6 or 8 pieces
  • Once cut place in a bowl and toss together with the olive oil, salt and pepper
  • Once coated and seasoned transfer to a baking sheet
  • Cook in a pre-heated oven at 220c
  • Cook for 12-14 minutes or until the edges begin to blacken
  • Remove from the oven and leave to cool naturally
  • Use immediately or reserve in the fridge till needed
