APPLE SAUCE
Prep/Cooking Time: 30-45 Minutes

- 1 Kilo Apples
- 50g Butter
- 80g Sugar
- 150ml White wine
- 40m White wine vinegar
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Peel the apples and cut into quarters
- Once quartered remove the seeds and core
- Lastly cut the quarters into halves and reserve in a bowl till needed
- Place the Butter and sugar in a thick bottom pan and place over a medium heat
- Once the butter and sugar are melted and bubbling add to the pan the apples
- Cook the apples until they begin to color
- Add to the pan the cinnamon and cook for a further 2 minutes
- Add to the pan the wine and vinegar
- Cook till all liquid has evaporated
- At this point the apple pieces should have begun to break down
- Stir the apples to break apart a little
- Season to taste with the salt and pepper
- Remove from the heat and leave to cool
- Once cool reserve in the fridge till needed
To serve
- Bring to room temperature to serve OR
- Heat in a pan and serve warm
